THE NATIONAL TRUST

Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens is a National Trust property in Kent. Famously the home of the poet and writer Vita Sackville West and her politician husband Harold Nicholson. They bought the rundown Elizabethan tower and grounds and set about restoring it and the surrounding land into the internationally acclaimed  gardens that now attract thousands of visitors each year. Part of the infamous Bloomsbury Set they led rather risqué lives for the times and the National Trust took over the property in the 70’s. We have designed exhibitions that covered everything from LGBTQ issues to 50 years of the National Trust as well as a tower restoration and the history of female gardeners. All in fragile, historic properties and following strict NT guidelines.
